Kos Island Map & Location Information

The town of Kos is the capital of Kos Island and is located at the island's northeastern part.
Kos Town was founded around 366 B.C. in the same place as today.
The golden era of Kos Town was the Hellinistic age. It was taken  or conquered by Romans, Venetians, Saint John's Knights, Ottoman Turks, Italians, Germans and British before ceded to Greece in 1947.
